Position Title: Maintenance Worker

Hours of Work: 24-29 hours per week

Wage: $22.50 - $32.72


The Maintenance Worker position works under the direction of the Fleet and Facilities Manager and is responsible for general maintenance and minor repairs of all large assets possessed by Sunshine House. The Maintenance Worker completes assigned maintenance tickets and in constant communication with the Directors on duty to ensure Sunshine House assets are in good order. The maintenance worker must available to work weekends.


Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.

  • Highly organized, adaptable, and a willingness to learn from feedback.

  • Ability to solve complex problems.

  • Lived experience as related to Sunshine House programs.

  • Knowledge of current social issues related to homelessness, mental illness, substance use, and harm reduction.

  • Class 5 Driver’s License (Preferred)

  • An understanding and commitment to the principles of social justice and Indigenous Cultural Resurgence.


Professional training is not a requirement for employment, though it can help. Candidates with relevant lived experience will be given priority.
