Announcing our new Executive Director!

Sunshine House is delighted to officially announce the hiring of our new Executive Director!

Levi A. Foy is a member of Couchiching First Nation located in the territory currently known as Ontario. He first became involved at Sunshine House in 2014 as a member of the Mapping Project. Later that year he was one of the founding members and coordinator of Like That @ Sunshine House. Levi has experience working in child welfare, homelessness, research and administration. He brings a strong background of community organizing that is rooted in Anishinaabe philosophies and practice.

Levi first began in this role in an acting capacity in spring 2019 when Margaret Ormond made the decision to leave the job. Margaret is a force-of-nature trailblazer in harm reduction and participant-driven programming. She is the reason Sunshine House is what it is today! We are sad to see her step down, but thankfully she will remain part of our family, and is continuing to participate in projects at the House.

Levi ably led this organization over this transition period with his boundless creativity, clear vision for this organization, and unique relationship with participants.

He’s been here for years, but let’s welcome him anyway!
