Here are the things we need most at Sunshine House and the Mobile Overdose Prevention Site (MOPS) for November 2024. The time has come when we really, really need WARM CLOTHES, including coats, socks, long underwear, pants, sweatshirts, boots, hats, mitts.


🎒GEAR (can be gently used, except socks & underwear which must be new)

Socks, shoes and warm boots

Gitch & panties (size S/M/L/XL)

Winter gloves, mitts, toques and warm scarves

Warm clothing (more long pants and long sleeves, jackets, sweatshirts, long underwear)
Reusable shopping bags

Bags, duffle bags or backpacks

Position Title: Casual – Direct Service Worker

Term Date: November 2024 to March 31, 2025

Hours of Work: 0-40 hours per week

Wage: $22.00 - $32.00


Casual – Direct Service Workers are required to collaborate with Program Directors and staff to  support participants in all Sunshine House programs and activities. 


Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. 

  • Adaptable and flexible.

  • Ability to solve complex problems. 

  • Lived experience as related to Sunshine House programs.

  • Professional experience relevant to Sunshine House programs and activities (Preferred). 

  • Knowledge of current social issues related to homelessness, mental illness, substance use, and harm reduction.

  • Class 5 Driver’s License (Preferred).

  • Relevant training, such as First AID, CPR, Conflict Resolution, or ASIST would be an asset. mailto:executiveassistant@sunshinehouswpg.org


Post-Secondary education is not a requirement for employment, though it can help. Candidates with relevant lived experience will be given priority.
